Wood coating solutions for LED curing are basically constructed in the same way as wood coating products for regular UV curing. The main components are reactive binders, reactive diluents and photoinitiators. In addition to this, extenders, matting agents and additives for flow control are added to achieve specific properties.

Reactive binders (euromeric acrylates) consist of different chemically constructed building blocks. The desired properties can be achieved by mixing different binders together in varying quantities.

Reactive diluents (stenomeric acrylates) are similar to reactive binders, but much smaller in size. Their task is to control the viscosity of the coating.

Photoinitiators are molecules, tailor made to receive the energy transmitted by UV lamps or LED units and to create free radicals. These radicals start a rapid chain reaction (polymerization) of the binder and the diluents, which result in a cured coating.

By adapting the coatings for LED curing you can achieve outstanding finishing results using the latest, environmentally preferable process.
